In January 2022, he became the new CEO of FEMSA, the company that, among other businesses, is the largest Coca-Cola bottler and is the owner of the Oxxo convenience store chain. His arrival is a natural step and he knows the company well after leading the FEMSA Comercio division for 16 years. Six months after taking the helm, Rodriguez showed his vision by announcing the company’s entry into the European market with the purchase of Swiss convenience store chain Valora, which will also be paid for with FEMSA’s own cash flow. Among his objectives is to strengthen the proximity business in markets outside Latin America, one that is growing at a fast pace, as well as to continue increasing its presence in the United States through acquisitions of small companies.
