Who Are the Top-Performing CEOs of Latin America’s Listed Companies?

Bloomberg Línea gauged the performance of 88 managers of listed companies in Latin America and the Caribbean. Here is the complete list of the evaluations

LatAm's Top CEOs

Bloomberg Línea presents an evaluation of 88 CEOs of publicly traded companies in Latin America and the Caribbean with more than one year in office that were part of its list of the Top CEOs, and in which 15 managers stand out for their annualized total return (%TRA) since they took on their positions, to May 31, 2023, based on data from Bloomberg.

The list reveals that there are no women occupying top management positions in the companies evaluated, which are, in general, companies with operations in various countries and leaders in eight evaluated markets. Given this reality, Bloomberg Línea also inquired whether there are women on the boards of directors of those companies.

In addition, readers can consult information about the managers such as their ge, whether they are on the board of directors or not, and the average of returns on the stock exchange during the CEO’s tenure, in order to determine the stock’s performance.

Of the 87 companies that met the requirements of our methodology, only 88 CEOs made the cut, and of them here are the 15 best performing CEOs in the region. There are 88 CEOs, but 87 companies, this is explained by the fact that Televisa has two CEOs.

  • CEOs with at least one year in the position were considered
  • %TRA: Annualized total return considers dividends reinvested in value, taken from Bloomberg data, in US dollars
  • TRA calculation from the CEO’s start date until May 31, 2023. If the start date of operations was not a business day, the immediately preceding date was taken into account
  • The calculation considers values in US dollars, not the local currency of the country where the company operates and is headquartered
  • TRA measured from the date the company started trading on the stock exchange. If the CEO was already in the role, the measurement is taken from the moment the company went public
